London, United Kingdom, 9 June 2009 – Richard Lindsay-Davies, the Director General of the Digital TV Group, will be interviewed by Isla Traquair of Five News at the 3rd Annual Broadband Connect Summit, taking place at the Courthouse Hotel in central London on 16 June 2009.

Richard Lindsay-Davies is the chief executive officer of the Digital TV Group, the industry association for digital television in the UK. In a straight talking interview at the industry summit he will discuss the future of digital television in the light of the anticipated publication of the final report from Lord Stephen Carter on Digital Britain.

Richard joined the DTG as Director of Public Affairs in 2004, working with government and stakeholders to establish the UK digital switchover body, Digital UK. He was appointed Director General in 2006, before transferring to Freesat as Commercial Development Director where he played an integral role in the successful launch of the satellite television platform. He returned to the DTG in October 2008.

The focus of the Annual Broadband Connect Summit this year is Digital Britain and the promise of next generation broadband access. The event will bring together senior executives from telecommunications and broadband service providers, broadcasters and media companies.

Speakers at the summit include Jonathan MacDonald of JMA; Karel Helsen, President of the FTTH Council Europe; Antony Walker, Broadband Stakeholder Group (BSG); Adrian Crook, Fibrecity; Malcolm Corbett, Community Broadband Network (CBN); Aleksandra Bosnjak, SNL Kagan; David Harrington, Communication Management Association (CMA); Joachim Luecking, European Commission; Ron Levin, ECI Telecom; Matt Yardley, Analysys Mason; Mark Logan, BT Openreach; Jon James, Virgin Media; Harry Eastman, Easynet Connect; Markus Reinisch, Vodafone and Clive Carter from Ofcom.

“Our line-up of speakers for this event reflects the growing interest of broadband stakeholders to contribute to the on-going discussions about Digital Britain and the future of next generation networks,” says Joseph de Villiers, the CEO and founder of TechnoSummits.  “With Lord Carter’s publication of the final report on Digital Britain imminent, the delegates are keen to hear the different sides of the discussions.”

Dr William Cooper, the CEO of informitv, who is chairing this event this year says “ I am very pleased with the line-up of speakers including Richard Lindsay-Davies from the Digital TV Group, with Isla Traquair from Five News as our guest interviewer. Delegates will have a great opportunity to hear many different perspectives on the future of next generation networks as the government announces its proposals for Digital Britain.”
