GeoSIM, the specialist international SIM card supplier has launched a new version of their GeoSIM Global SIM card. The SIM allows free incoming calls in the USA and flat rate calling in the USA and Europe. Uniquely, the new GeoSIM has a UK and US phone number.

The SIM works in over 200 countries including all major business and tourist destinations and either of the UK or US numbers can be called at any time no matter which country the SIM is roaming in.

Technically known as a “Multi IMSI SIM Card”, the single SIM is capable of having more than one country specific phone number assigned to it.  Currently the GeoSIM is programmed with a UK +44 and a US +1 number, but it also has the capability to have additional country specific numbers assigned “over the air”.  This powerful feature means that travellers will be able to have a local phone number for the country they are in on the one SIM card.

Instead of paying in the region of £1 ($1.50) per minute to receive calls in the USA, there will be no charge when called on the UK number. Receiving calls in Europe is also free of charge. Calls made within the USA or back to Europe cost £0.28 ($0.46) per minute and an SMS Text message costs £0.09 ($0.15).  This is an impressive saving on calling costs of over 70% when compared with a standard GeoSIM or other major network SIMs when roaming in the US. 

When in the US, GeoSIM will work on the AT&T and T-Mobile networks so effectively giving better coverage countrywide than a single US network SIM.
