Spotlights new VMware Ready™ ProtectV data encryption; StorageSecure for storage security; KeySecure for robust digital key management; and SafeNet Authentication Service for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
LONDON - 01 October, 2012 - SafeNet, Inc., a global leader in information security, today announced its participation as a silver sponsor at VMworld® 2012 Europe, which will take place in Barcelona from 9th-11th October 2012. SafeNet is a VMware Technology Alliance Partner. SafeNet will be present in two locations on the show floor: firstly in its own booth S102, SafeNet will be showcasing how its data encryption and authentication solutions address complex data security issues for virtualised environments, while delivering control and governance of data in the cloud. SafeNet will also be present in the NetApp Partner Pavilion, booth DD1, where it will be showcasing its Storage Security and Key Management solutions.
VMworld Europe will be the first opportunity for European customers and partners to experience a live demonstration of how ProtectV provides complete data encryption for virtualized and cloud environments. By enabling virtual machines and storage volumes to be secure in on-premise environments, ProtectV allows organizations to run systems as if it was their own private data center, even in co-mingled or multi-tenant environments.
As all VMs and associated storage volumes are encrypted, unauthorized users and even super-user administrators who may have control over the virtualization infrastructure cannot access the encrypted VMs – enforcing separation of duties and ensuring ownership of data for compliance with industry and governmental regulations. ProtectV is compatible with VMware vCloud® Networking and Security and VMware vCenter™ Server. In addition, SafeNet ProtectV can be used by Amazon Web Services customers to secure their critical data in the cloud.
Alongside ProtectV, SafeNet will be showcasing related data security solutions for securing virtualised environments and access to them:
StorageSecure – newly available this solution enables organisations to achieve compliance and protect files on any network attached storage (NAS) used in the datacentre. It allows transparent encryption of any existing CIFS, NFS and iSCSI IP, networking infrastructure.
KeySecure – a KMIP compliant, FIPS140-2 level 3 validated enterprise key management (EKM) solution that enables a single, centralized platform for managing multiple cryptographic keys for applications, hardware security modules and storage and archive devices, including NetApp Self Encryption (NSE) drives, Brocade Encryption Switch (BES), Hitachi, Quantum and many others. This resolves the difficulties experienced when use of encryption proliferates throughout an organisation and security teams must scale their management of encryption keys, including key generation, key import and export, key rotation, and much more.
SafeNet Authentication Service for Virtual Desktops – a cloud service solution that uniquely deploys strong user authentication quickly, cost effectively and seamlessly – regardless of any other authentication methods or vendors which are already incumbent. Cloud delivery and management is ideally suited for VDI implementations with large end user bases working remotely or widely dispersed geographically. SafeNet Authentication Service is tested with VMware View® 5.1.
In addition to the product demonstrations, SafeNet experts will be presenting at various sessions. Rami Shalom, VP Data Encryption & Control, will be presenting on “How to Enforce Confidentiality of Data in Virtual Machines in Hybrid Clouds” in the Solution Exchange Theatre on Wednesday 10th October at 16:40pm, and Blair Semple, Business Development Director will be presenting “Securing Stored Data in a Virtualized Environment” at the NetApp Partner Pavilion on Tuesday 9th October at 13:00pm.
