SCTE 2013 Awards Open for Nominations
« Posted: September 04, 2012, 08:13:30 PM »

The SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) has announced that its SCTE 2013 Technological Innovation Awards and Individual Achievement Awards are now open for entries. Nominations are invited by the end of January 2013. The awards recognise the achievements of companies and individuals in the broadband arena and will be presented during the SCTE Gala Dinner on Saturday 23 March 2013 (Drapers’ Hall, London, UK). Previous SCTE Technological Innovation Awards winners include Harmonic, RGB Networks, Technetix and Ineoquest.

“The SCTE Awards are an established part of our calendar and activities and are always very popular with our members and the industry,” said Dr Roger Blakeway, SCTE President. “We always look forward to the entries which are of a high calibre and demonstrate a wide range of innovative thinking and expertise in this vibrant industry.”

SCTE 2013 Technological Innovation Awards

The SCTE 2013 Technological Innovation Awards recognise technological innovation in the broadband arena and may be awarded for a product, system or concept (introduced into the marketplace between 1 January 2012 and 31 December 2012). Awards are presented in three separate categories: Best Broadband Network Transmission Solution, Best CPE Solution and Best Digital Processing Solution. In addition, the best overall submission will receive the SCTE 2013 Technological Innovation of the Year Award.

Nominations should be made by the end of January 2013 via the SCTE website at http://www.thescte.eu/index.php/about-us/awards-and-bursaries#individual and emailed to office@thescte.eu. An entrance fee of £100 is charged. Judging is undertaken by an independent panel of industry experts. Shortlisted candidates will be announced at the end of February 2013 and the winners and runners-up will be announced at the SCTE Gala Dinner.

SCTE Individual Achievement Awards

The 2013 Individual Awards recognise excellence in two categories: Technician of the Year (open to individuals who are not SCTE Members) and SCTE Member of the Year. These awards are open for nomination by all grades of SCTE members only.

Nominations should contain as much background information as possible for the choice of nomination in each category. Nominations should be forwarded to the SCTE office, via the SCTE website at http://www.thescte.eu/index.php/about-us/awards-and-bursaries#individual, by the end of January 2013.
