Securityvibes.com, the first online community dedicated to it security and compliance opens up to the UK CSO’s
Infosecurity Europe, London, 29 April 2009 – Securityvibes.com, the online community dedicated to IT Security and Compliance for CSO’s and IT Security industry experts, announces the opening of its UK based community. SecurityVibes is the first online community dedicated to CSO’s and ITS experts offering a confidential space of discussion where they can exchange with their peer on IT security trends, solutions, real life issues with a real vendor independance.
Securityvibes.com offers a unique approach thru it’s online community, opened to all non vendor IT security experts, and it’s news portal, managed as a media, by a senior IT security journalist and expert Ben Chai. Securityvibes.com enables CSO’s and IT security experts to exchange on day to day security issues, upcoming technology trends, problem resolution, comment market news (merger, acquisitions, new technologies) using a dedicated forum, opened questions, a chat or private contact.
It’s opened platform gathers contributions from the members and enables them to share their vision, enhance their competencies, exchange their experiences and points of view on what’s new, whilst promoting their own expertise in the field of security, risk, business continuity and compliance. The news content will be provided by Ben Chai, the UK representative and chief editor of SecurityVibes UK. Ben is an IT security expert and has had the honour to be the journalist and podcaster of the FIRST ((Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams) for the past two years.
“Starting the SecurityVibes community in the UK and writing for CISOs is a unique opportunity for me as a journalist and security researcher. CISOs in general are overloaded with dealing with the number of potential threat vectors and managing their various security teams. There is a great deal of information available but it is hidden across multiple websites and takes a lot of their time to locate and find this information. So I am excited by the prospect of being instrumental in being able to put together the research, the resources, and the community to help them get the answers they need that much quicker than it would normally take for them. And…. hopefully we can add several other unique and useful components into the mix to make the site more compelling for our CISOs but these ideas will have to evolve and be developed as our community grows.”, comments Ben Chai, UK Chief Editor SecurityVibes. Some of the key advantages SecurityVibes offers to CSIO’s:
• The editorial content is created by SecurityVibes’s own journalists around topics relevant to the CSIO’s day to day activity. Members can also ask for coverage of specific topics.
• The goal of SecurityVibes is to act like an analyst 2.0 offering market trends, technology watch, in depth analysis, etc.
• SecurityVibes is a private, secured community where CSIO’s and experts can only access by invitation. CISO’s will be able to exchange in a secure and private vendor free environment.
• SecurityVibes enables CISOs to ask questions and get answers from their peers. Nobody is better placed to know what's useful to a CISO than another CISO.
• SecurityVibes is to act as a central hub of collaborative expertise, for CISOs to tap into when they need real, down to earth, professional advice.
• There is no promotion of vendor products whatsoever in the site.
The official launch for SecurityVibes will be during Infosecurity UK (
