LONDON, UK, 4th September 2012 – Sentrum Colo, one of the UK’s leading colo specialists, has worked with AIT Partnership Group Ltd, a leading provider of data centre and IT infrastructure services, to develop a power monitoring solution for its Hayes data centre facility. The solution will give Sentrum Colo’s customers the ability to check on their power usage and generate management reports.
Through a simple, secure web based interface, a customer can login and view their own power readings and create management reports to suit their needs. In addition, end users can enable automatic notifications to be sent to them regarding power thresholds to make sure that they don’t go over their allocation.
“We are pleased to be able to offer our customers an insight into their own power usage at a click of a button, by providing them with a remote monitoring tool. The POWERView system is simple to use, cost-effective and possibly one of the best power and environmental systems that we have used so far,” explained Lawrence Buxton, operations director, Sentrum Colo. “We are committed to providing our customers with a quality solution that offers cutting-edge features, whilst still being great value for money.”
Sentrum Colo is now able to monitor its customers’ power usage, using a variety of metrics, on an individual customer level as well as keeping an eye on the overall power usage within the Haynes facility. It is able to set-up fully automated alarms that alert onsite engineers to a breach in pre-set conditions such as exceeding thresholds and power failure, allowing them to respond quickly.
“POWERView helps co-location companies address the challenge of organising power circuit readings to manage the needs of the facility as well as customer contracts. At the same time it enhances their customer offering by giving end users an insight into their own power consumption,” said Steve Bailey, managing director, AIT. “Real-time monitoring and alerting tools give businesses such as Sentrum Colo a real differentiator that is highly valued by customers.”
