Providing Assured Cloud Services to the UK Public Sector

London – June 22nd 2012 – Skyscape Cloud Services Limited, the easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to leave Assured Cloud Services Company, today announced that it is one of the first government G-Cloud suppliers to complete the design review for its IL3 and IL2 service designs, enabling it to move forward onto the next stage towards achieving full accreditation.

Skyscape Cloud Services is a UK sovereign SME, who deliver a range of cloud services specifically designed for the UK Public Sector, from some of the most secure and sustainable data centres in the world. Initially, a total of seventeen Compute-as-a-Service, Storage-as-a-Service and Software-as-a-Service products at differing Impact Levels will be available, helping to transform the provision of IT services into a lean, elastic, assured, green utility by providing a genuine on-demand assured cloud computing service.

Simon Hansford, Skyscape’s Chief Technology Officer, said “We are absolutely delighted to have reached this very important milestone. It has been a real team effort, and is a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of all. CESG, the G-Cloud Programme and the Skyscape Cloud Alliance partners have really pulled together to achieve this milestone in record time. There is still more work to do, but we are very proud that Skyscape is on track to  be one of the first G-Cloud suppliers to offer IL3 services with CESG approved pan government accreditation”.

Denise McDonagh, Programme Director for G-Cloud, said “It is great news to hear that G-Cloud suppliers are now advancing the pan-government accreditation process. This is a tangible proof that agile, flexible and low cost cloud services can also be highly secure and capable of hosting restricted data. I very much hope that this achievement will act as strong encouragement to other suppliers to work with government to deliver more secure cloud based services, and to the UK public sector to buy those services so that together we can transform the way that government consumes and transacts IT. The ultimate beneficiaries will be UK citizens and tax payers”.
