Sofitel London Heathrow, Terminal 5 chooses iBAHN to deliver wired and wireless internet access to rooms

London - (21 October, 2008) – iBAHN, the leading provider of digital converged services for hoteliers, today announces that it has completed a full High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) installation at the Sofitel London Heathrow, Terminal 5, incorporating both wired and wireless connectivity.

Guests to this brand new hotel can now enjoy both wired and wireless access in all of the hotel’s 605 guestrooms, with Wi-Fi access also available throughout the property in the extensive public areas and 45 conference rooms. The Sofitel London Heathrow at Terminal 5 has also purchased a 100MB data line, which will be dedicated to High Speed Internet Access in response to guest’s increasing bandwidth requirements.

The installation offers business travellers the highest standards of data security through iBAHN’s Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) solution, which eliminates the ability of a hacker to steal guest data and provides total separation between different wireless users. This ensures that there is no chance of guests viewing each others’ data.

In addition, iBAHN offers a Virtual Private Network (VPN) certification programme and unlimited IP addresses which allows business travellers to connect easily to their own corporate network. Further advantages, such as the ability to check flight details and print boarding passes using iBAHN’s Internet PC product are highly valuable to this flagship airport hotel.
