Students benefit from ‘creativity’ bundle from Adobe and HP

Power meets creativity in special Student Edition Bundle

Adobe and HP are making an educational version of the HP Compaq 6715b notebook computer available to students as they return to university and college. The bundle combines the leading edge notebook computer from HP and the latest Adobe Creative Suite 3 software. Students buying the computer can also get big discounts on two leading HP printers.

Many higher education courses taught today rely in some part on access to online materials and although students have access to shared computing resources many feel that they prefer their own computer. In addition, with project and collaborative work increasingly prevalent, the flexibility of a personal notebook computer becomes even more beneficial.

Adobe has come together with HP to provide students with high performance software and hardware to support their ongoing studies. Adobe CS3 Design Premium software provides students with a complete creative solution and design tools for print, web, interactive, mobile, and video content. From creating original designs and artwork to enhancing ongoing projects, students can use Adobe Creative Suite 3 software to express ideas faster, more efficiently, and with more freedom than ever before.

Students will benefit from a simple and consistent interface and intuitive tools whether they are designing with print, web or video content. They will also be using and developing their skills with the industry standard tools used in many of the leading creative professions around the world.

The Adobe software is supported by a high-performance, business-class notebook. The HP Compaq 6715b is designed with performance, security and durability in mind. It features a 120GB hard drive – ample for coursework and personal music and photo collections, wireless connectivity for Internet connections (many universities are offering wi-fi access in student rooms), plus a DVD writer. Other useful features for the student lifestyle include a spill resistant keyboard – liquid spills on the keyboard are caught in an integrated tray and carried out of the notebook safely away from the electronics – and HP 3D Driveguard which protects the hard drive if the notebook is dropped preventing the loss of valuable graphics, coursework and iTunes tracks etc.

Students buying the HP notebook computer with the Adobe CS3 Design Standard software from an authorised dealer will benefit from the special educational price of £669.95 for the bundle, and those wishing to invest in the notebook plus the Adobe CS3 Design Premium software with its additional features will pay £749.95.

HP C5180 A4 all-in-one printer (scans, copies and prints) and the HP B8350 A3 printer are also available for £89 and £199 respectively when purchased at the same time as the notebook. Both are well suited to high-quality colour printing necessary for creative and design projects.

Alex Moore, education marketing manager at Adobe, commenting on the deal, said “A notebook is increasingly seen as a standard tool for students and most universities are enabling wireless Internet access across campus to help students work flexibly and collaboratively. HP’s hardware and Adobe Creative Suite 3 software provides students with a powerful combination to create, share, and submit high quality materials as part of their courses.”

The Student Edition Bundle is available from your local authorised reseller. For further information please visit www.powermeetscreativity.co.uk
