BERKSHIRE, UK – 23 August, 2012 – Talend, a global open source software leader, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Visionaries” quadrant of the newly-published “Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools”[1] annual report.
According to the report, “Visionaries in the market demonstrate a strong understanding of current and future market trends and directions, such as the importance of ongoing monitoring of data quality, the engagement of business subject matter experts and the delivery of data quality services. They exhibit capabilities aligned with these trends, but may lack the market presence, brand recognition, customer base and resources of larger vendors.”
“Our focus is on helping companies realise the full value of high quality data, and we believe being placed on the ‘Visionaries’ quadrant of the Data Quality Tools Report demonstrates that Talend is delivering a significant return on investment for our customers’ top business initiatives,” said Bertrand Diard, CEO and co-founder, Talend. “As the first open source provider of data quality solutions, we will continue along our path of innovative product development, including the recent release of our next-generation integration platform, and look forward to advancing beyond our current position.”
According to Gartner, “Given the scale and complexity of the data landscape across organisations of all sizes and in all industries, tools to help automate key elements of the discipline continue to attract more interest and to grow in value. As such, the data quality tools market continues to show substantial growth, while exhibiting innovation and change.”
Talend’s products cited in the report include Talend Enterprise Data Quality, a comprehensive enterprise data quality management solution that delivers not only data profiling and discovery, but also data cleaning, data enrichment, data migration and data synchronisation functionality. Talend Enterprise Data Quality is fully integrated with Talend’s other products through the Talend Unified Platform, providing close integration with data integration, master data management, enterprise service bus and business process management. Also included in the report is Talend Open Studio for Data Quality, a freely downloadable data quality tool offered under an open source license.
