TDC, Denmark’s largest telecommunications and broadband provider, has just agreed a three-year contract with IBX. Under the contract, IBX will provide electronic procurement and sourcing solutions to help TDC streamline its procurement processes and benefit from a supplier database of increased quality. TDC expects that the IBX e-procurement solution will help achieve savings on its purchases and in return, a fewer number of suppliers will get access to more and larger orders with TDC.
With the aid of IBX’s on-demand solutions, TDC anticipates gaining the following benefits: contract compliance, spend visibility, less administration, a supplier database of increased quality, and increased efficiency across all procurement processes. At the same time the company expects that the electronic procurement solutions will make dealings with TDC much more convenient.
“One of our most important requirements in selecting an e-procurement solution was that it should be easy for our staff to access the contracts that our procurement department negotiates with our suppliers. In that context, IBX is very well-suited, because it has the most user-friendly solution on the market at a competitive price,” says Carsten Bryder Rasmussen, vice president of procurement at TDC.
It is also important for TDC that their suppliers meet with the highest degree of ‘compliance’ possible, meaning that TDC places orders to the volume agreed upon in the negotiations with suppliers.
“In this way we ensure that we achieve maximum savings on the purchases we have agreed with our suppliers. Also, our chosen suppliers will have the feeling that they have a closer, superior relationship with TDC,” continues Rasmussen.
“There can be no doubt that TDC is one of the companies in Denmark today that have set themselves the most ambitious targets in terms of streamlining their procurement processes, which is why we are truly proud that TDC has chosen to make use of our hosted on-demand solutions as a means of reaching those targets,” says Mark Masterson, IBX UK Country Manager.
