23 September 2008 – telent, a leading provider of technology services, today announced that it has acquired Premises Networks Management plc, a specialist provider of telecommunications system integration services that operates predominantly in the UK.
The acquisition is in line with telent’s strategy to grow its presence and service offering in the telecommunications sector, and strengthens its presence in the medium to large enterprise market.
Premises Networks, which employs 40 people and has offices in the North West of England and in the London area, has an impressive history of providing products and services to a number of medium to large organisations. The company’s capabilities include: design, supply, installation and ongoing support and management of telecommunications solutions, such as hosted, ICT and VoIP solutions, and unified communications and mobility. The company is an accredited Aastra Advanced Sales and Service Business Partner, one of only three in the UK. It also has accreditations with other complementary product suppliers such as Mitel, Microsoft and AvsT.
Premises Networks’ key customers include major telecom providers such as: BT, Ericsson and Global Crossing; and public sector organisations such as Eastleigh Borough Council, Lancashire County Council, Leeds City Council, Luton Borough Council, Notting Hill Housing Trust, University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) and West London Mental Health Authority, among others.
The combination of telent’s established business and financial scale with Premises Networks’ telecommunications and systems integration skills creates a unique position for telent in the telecommunications market.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for both businesses,” commented Mark Plato, Chief Executive Officer of telent. “Premises Networks is a very complementary business to telent in terms of its service offering and telecoms expertise. Like telent, Premises Networks has developed a reputation for excellent customer service within the industry. telent has the financial scale and customer focus needed successfully to grow a business, and Premises Networks has enviable skills and long-term customer relationships. Together, we provide a compelling proposition of skill, experience, domain knowledge and financial scale.”
John Coomber, Chairman of the Board of telent and Executive Vice Chairman of Pension Corporation, welcomed the acquisition: “Like telent’s acquisition of communications infrastructure provider - the Alan Campbell Group - in August 2008, the addition of Premises Networks enhances the company’s current services offering and presents exciting opportunities for future growth.”
Maurice Lee, Managing Director of Premises Networks, added: “telent has the size, skills and financial stability to maximise the true potential of Premises Networks in the enterprise market.”
