txtNation announce its Direct Billing capabilities are now available in more countries, across more mobile operators.
Following a ramp up from earlier this year, where txtNation had predicated more growth in Direct Billing, txtNation had seen one in five service providers requesting Direct Billing. Now txtNation are seeing as many as three in five requesting this type of mobile billing.
Following a successful launch in Ireland, txtNation's first commercially live deployment of Direct Operator Billing, they have now deployed in more markets where they are directly connected to the operators. Most notable markets where txtNation are now working with the mobile networks for Direct Billing, include Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and more recently, Belgium.
Michael Whelan, txtNation Director quotes, “The speed of the actual transaction using Direct Billing is unparalleled. This is a key reason for its gaining popularity and being requested by mobile customers more and more as the preferred method of payment. This of course is a huge mobile operator opportunity in making sure each is singing from the same hymn sheet.”
Direct Operator Billing is quickly emerging as the optimum approach to providing a seamless and effective billing method, with large numbers of service providers now stating that encouraging in-app purchases will be key to increasing their generated revenue in the next five years, and commenting that the simple 'one-click' process would play the biggest role in driving sales and pushing new types of user experiences forward.
Direct Billing's impact is such that preferred content selling models are now starting to be released, for example 'Freemium', where the mobile customer is provided the content for free and can then choose to upgrade or purchase at a later point.
Robust and viable business models are proving more likely to succeed than ever before with Direct Billing. txtNation make the point that compelling content of course is still incredibly important no matter what the billing type.
Whelan quotes “Security and fraud risks have been reduced further over the last several years, moving away from poor digital experiences to one-click, secure payment experiences, where the customer is fed the information in a clear and concise manner.”
Unlike traditional mobile billing methods, such as Premium SMS or WAP Billing, the txtNation Direct Operator Billing Gateway offers real-time, seamless 'one-click' mobile billing for digital content providers, mobile app stores and websites.
The txtNation Direct Billing Gateway acts on the principal of being the glue in the middle, where a merchant can come in and connect, sending the billing request in real time and validate who they are and in-turn sending the confirmation back to the client and the mobile customer at the same time. txtNation's aim to plug in more operators on the one end and merchants on the other becomes obvious.
Operators in developed markets are starting to realise they need to embrace this innovative mobile billing model. However txtNation are not ruling out the larger market opportunities and are currently looking at Direct Billing in several undeveloped markets, where they currently have Short Code and Premium SMS billing options, believing this type of payment can have potentially larger growth. In these untapped markets Direct Billing can play a huge part from a customer confidence perspective, where this has typically been an issue.
With the Direct Billing opportunity, txtNation are perfectly placed and aim over the coming months to connect further mobile operators to their platform and in doing so giving their clients further reach.
It seems that Direct Billing is starting to deliver on its promise. txtNation believe it is the billing option of the future.
