UK Oracle User Group Announces 2008 Survey Results
« Posted: December 01, 2008, 08:48:03 PM »

Over 550 UK Oracle customers respond to User Group Survey

LONDON – 1st December 2008: UK Oracle User Group (UKOUG), an independent not for profit membership organisation created to support Oracle stakeholders, has issued the findings from its 2008 annual customer survey.

The survey, which questioned over 550 Oracle users in advance of the UKOUG 2008 Conference & Exhibition, being held from 1st - 5th December at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham, surveys the opinions from the UK Oracle user community.

The 2008 survey results show: -

Oracle Technology
• 96% of Oracle customers are happy with the overall function and features of Oracle development tools
• Satisfaction with Oracle DBA Tools continues to be high with 94% of Oracle customers satisfied with Oracle DBA Tools
• 89% of Oracle users are satisfied with the function and features of Oracle Fusion Middleware
• Oracle Server version 11g Standard Edition and 11g Enterprise Edition have experienced a dramatic uptake from Oracle customers as over 10% of UK customers have migrated to an 11g platform

BEA
• 82% of users are satisfied with the overall function and features of the BEA products used

Siebel
• Satisfaction with Siebel products remains high as 90% of customers are satisfied

Oracle E-Business Suite
• 98% of Oracle customers are satisfied with Oracle E-Business Suite Financials
• Oracle customers have recorded a 97% satisfaction rating with Oracle Supply Chain
• Growth in Oracle customers using Oracle E-Business Suite version 12 has risen five fold since 2007

Oracle Services
• Levels of overall satisfaction with Oracle Consulting remain high at 86%
• Over the past three years, over three-quarters of Oracle Consulting customers have said they would actively recommend Oracle Consulting
• Satisfaction at Oracle University continues to remain high as 85% of customers are satisfied with instructor led classroom training and 87% are satisfied with the overall service and experience

Oracle Corporation
• 91% of respondents are satisfied with Oracle Corporation as a provider
• More than 70% of customers believe Oracle provide a better service than other IT suppliers

Ronan Miles, chairman of UKOUG comments, “It is very pleasing to see the UKOUG survey has again gathered the views from every part of the Oracle Community and I am pleased to see that members continue to feel their investments in Oracle products and services deliver genuine business value.  It is especially gratifying to see the increasing satisfaction of JDE and PeopleSoft members in this year’s survey as UKOUG and Oracle have worked hard to address the concerns highlighted two years ago. For example its Support Organisation has attended a number of Special Interest events and has been very pro-active with customers, including the introduction of Quarterly Webcasts available to all OUG members.  Also of note is the loyalty felt by the Siebel community, demonstrating how Oracle’s acquisition strategy is working well in bringing customers into the community and supporting their investments.”

David Callaghan, senior vice president, Oracle UK, Ireland and Israel, responded, "Oracle is delighted to see positive responses from our customers in the UK and we continue to listen to the OUG's comments as an integral part of our overall corporate and local country initiatives to solicit, analyse and reply to such feedback. With Oracle evolving and growing as a company we value this on-going dialogue, especially with the UKOUG and other user groups, as an important mechanism for collaboration and continuous improvement."

Miles continues, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank UKOUG members that have contributed to the survey.  The metrics give us a high level view - and this is supported by a large amount of free text in the survey which highlights further opportunities for refinements that will give even higher levels of expectation. UKOUG is pleased that this year – for the first time – we have been engaging with Oracle in the US as well as the UK in discussing the insights the survey delivers and the actions we need to consider taking.  The ongoing support of the membership, inputting to this survey, has made the UK & Ireland a key influencer to the products and services that Oracle customers globally receive.”
