UK’s First Internet Retailing Diploma Launched
« Posted: April 16, 2009, 05:58:14 PM »

The first postgraduate qualification developed in the UK specifically for ecommerce professionals, has been launched today by internet research and training specialist, Econsultancy. The Postgraduate Internet Retailing Diploma has been designed in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University and Ian Jindal, editor-in-chief of Internet Retailing Magazine, to provide a unique combination of cutting-edge training delivered by industry practitioners, together with exceptionally high academic standards.

The two year syllabus, which is aimed both at individuals already involved in ecommerce plus those from a more traditional retail background, guides delegates through all aspects of internet retailing, from marketing, buying and merchandising, through to logistics, engineering and technology.  In addition to training by leading ecommerce practitioners, the diploma is also closely linked to industry through the Leadership Council.

The course has been designed to allow delegates to fit it in around work with applications being accepted now for September 2009 entry.

Explaining why he became involved in developing the course, Ian Jindal, editor-in-chief of Internet Retailing Magazine said: “There was a very clear need for a professional qualification to help develop the next generation of ecommerce experts who will need to be knowledgeable, commercially minded and experienced.  We’ve focused on helping deliver competitive advantage to the delegates by making the course directly relevant to industry.”

Craig Hanna, Training Director at Econsultancy said, “This diploma, along with all of Econsultany’s public training courses, has been designed to adhere to the highest possible academic standards.  For this reason it will be hugely beneficial to the individual in addition to having credibility and meaning for any employer.”
