US operator moves service to DIGITALK
« Posted: January 12, 2009, 05:20:36 PM »

Milton Keynes. 12th January, 2009. Nobel, a market leader in the global telecommunications industry, has selected the DIGITALK Multiservice platform as the solution of choice for IP and prepaid telephony services.

Nobel made the decision having felt unable to respond rapidly enough to the fast moving Telcoms market place. The review of the existing solution also concluded that the time was right to migrate its TDM based infrastructure onto an all IP service platform.

Nobel will be using the DIGITALK SIP Application Server to deliver prepaid services to the North American market place.

The DIGITALK Multiservice Platform now has a fully integrated Session Border Controller providing 1+1 redundancy, failover and recovery with live session state maintenance and multi network and service capacity, greatly improving service quality and traffic capacity.

Michael Knobel, President of Nobel already has his sights set on widening the service offering: “Service growth is key to our customer strategy. We fully intend to expand on this with DIGITALK integrated IP telephony products to take full advantage of the rapid up-take of broadband voice in enterprises and residential consumers. “

Knobel continues “We have, however, identified the need for a balanced service portfolio. Whilst having our sights on new technologies, the demand for prepaid services is still high, especially during a technology transition phase. By being able to service a variety of markets, Nobel is protected from the fluctuations and turbulence we are all braced for.”

Mark Ashdown, Sales and Marketing Director at DIGITALK added “We warmly welcome Nobel as a new customer and are delighted at the scope of service offerings that are being planned for. Furthermore, we are excited to see our presence grow in the US and hope to see deployments like these repeated in this region.”

“Companies are keen to find ways to cut costs without degrading service quality and value for money. We are well positioned to serve service providers to offer both innovative and frugal service globally. “
