VDSL2: State of the art for triple play and IPTV services
« Posted: October 09, 2007, 04:34:16 PM »

At the European Broadband World Forum 2007 in Berlin Nokia Siemens Networks is presenting its strategy for xDSL technology and discussing customer needs

Berlin, Germany – 9 October 2007 - VDSL2 is seen as the major DSL technology and the most advanced standard of xDSL broadband wireline communications. Because of its high bandwidth throughput, it is able to provide new end-user experiences; these high-speed access connections are needed to ensure full support of triple- and quadruple-play applications.

But are end users really using that bandwidth, and how are they using it? What are end users' preferences? Are operators investing CAPEX and OPEX in the channels that will generate the right revenue, and does VDSL2 outperform ADSL2+ in all respects?

An expert session to be held at the European Broadband World Forum will discuss what has been learned from large VDSL2 deployments for triple play and IPTV services and their rollout requirements.

The presentation will be held in the Hotel Estrel on October 10, 9:00-10:30 a.m.
