weComm provide the technology used to deliver the 3VOOR12 Luisterpaal experience across a large range of extended mass market mobile operating systems.
LONDON, 20th October 2009 - weComm, the leader in rich-media mobile solutions, today introduce 3VOOR12 Luisterpaal mobile application. The 3VOOR12 Luisterpaal mobile application extends VPRO’s existing Luisterpaal mobile offering from that of purely an iPhone application; offering distribution over the air and via application stores across a full range of mass market devices including Android, Blackberry, Symbian, Java, and Windows.
The service, which is built on weComm’s wave On-Demand Mobile Application Platform™, is part of VPRO’s alternative music website
http://3voor12.vpro.nl. The Luisterpaal application offers users the chance to legally listen to numerous new or still unreleased alternative albums via mobile for free. Albums are offered for a limited time as a teaser. New albums are added several times a week.
weComm’s wave platform uses a client-server infrastructure to deliver high-quality, rich-media solutions optimized to all major mobile operating systems. Pre-built components enable weComm customers to deliver compelling mobile music solutions that are proven across the full range of mobile operating platforms.
“weComm’s mobile music solution has enabled us to build on the ever growing demand for mobile applications and to quickly and simply deliver 3VOOR12 Luisterpaal on a large range of handsets making use of multiple distribution mechanisms “ said Martijn van der Vlist, Editor and Chief at 3VOOR12 VPRO. “We are making a lot of people happy with our new Luisterpaal service on the mobile phone. When we started a few months ago with the application for the iPhone it was a big success. Thousands of people in the Netherlands use the Luisterpaal already on their iPhone. I hope and think the application for the other mobile platforms will be successful too.”
Steven Tan, VP Business Solutions, weComm, said: “VPRO have a clear vision for the 3VOOR12 Luisterpaal mobile application and by utilizing existing wave components were able to configure and deploy a compelling service within the shortest possible timescales.”
