Chicago, IL - October 22, 2012 - The Open Mobile Alliance will take part next week in a must-see panel discussion on M2M and the Internet of Things at the 4G World conference in Chicago, IL. The session, entitled ‘M2M/IoT Innovation Ecosystem’, will take place on Thursday 1 November at 13:15pm. Panellists will address the mass-adoption challenges and opportunities of M2M, including innovation trends, standards, economics, ecosystems, and commercialization.

The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) is the leading industry forum for developing market driven, interoperable mobile service enablers. One of OMA’s key areas of work is on M2M-related specifications, among others, and offers multiple enablers for machine-to-machine devices and services.

Eshwar Pittampalli, Marketing Director at the OMA, is joining as a key member of the panel and has over twenty five years in the global telecoms market and prior to joining OMA held senior positions at AT&T Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies and Alcatel-Lucent.

“We’re pleased to be a part of such an influential event” Comments Pittampalli. “The M2M market is at a turning point as the economics, standards and technologies are aligning to enable the mass-adoption of business solutions. The session will explore the challenges and solutions around this, as well as the opportunities it may bring.”

4G World will take place from the 29 October to 1 November at McCormick Place, Chicago. The event will cover the entire ecosystem of next-generation technologies and business models that power the mobile Internet industry and economy across the globe.

The session is part of the ‘Innovative M2M Applications: Solutions for Vertical Industries’ track, located in W-471B.
