London. – Oct. 24, 2008 – Wyse Technology, the global leader in thin computing, today announced the sponsorship, along with Key Technology Leaders, of the Citrix Booth. As industry leaders, Wyse, Lenovo and others will showcase Citrix desktop & application virtualization technologies at the upcoming Citrix Summit™ Conference. Citrix Summit, a partner focused event will be held in Orlando Florida, October 26th through the 29th. Wyse has attended the Citrix Summit event since its inception. Wyse, IBM & Lenovo will fill the Citrix Booth with 14 IBM BladeCenter HS21 XMs, 20 Lenovo ThinkCentres, 20 Lenovo ThinkPads, and 30 Wyse V class XP Embedded Thin Clients. "The Citrix Booth technology lab area is an important showcase for our Citrix Summit attendees," says Eddie Powell, director of business development, at Citrix Systems. "Our strong relationship with Wyse -- both technically and professionally -- made them a natural candidate to demonstrate our latest technologies in the best light."
"Many IBM clients are moving to client virtualization by transforming large portions of their end user populations to thin client environments with IBM’s Virtual Infrastructure Access solution," said Jan Jackman, vice president, End-User Services for IBM. "Through key partnerships with leading vendors like Wyse and Citrix, IBM is helping organizations offer this alternative model for deploying desktop applications which increase the security, resilience, and reliability of desktop deployments, all at a fraction of the price of competing solutions."
“The Citrix Summit attracts some of the most sophisticated technologists working today," according to Peter Schrady, VP and GM Software and Peripherals at Lenovo. "This is a great opportunity for Lenovo to demonstrate how well our ThinkCentres and ThinkPads compliment the solutions from Wyse and Citrix."
"This sponsorship is a tremendous opportunity for Wyse to showcase our products and demonstrate the benefits of a virtual desktop to the Citrix Summit attendees as well as to our channel partners," according to Ricardo Antuna, VP, Business Development & Product Management at Wyse Technology. "There's no substitute for seeing a virtualized environment in action from the data center to the desktop, and we're happy to deliver that experience to the show attendees."
