Senior VMware Executive Chris Hammans Joins Desktop Virtualisation Innovator
London – November 11, 2009 –
Pano Logic, the leader in zero client
desktop virtualisation (VDI), today announced its expansion into the European market and the appointment of Chris Hammans as managing director. Chris Hammans will apply his over 10 years in virtualisation expertise with VMware and Citrix to build a world-class organisation across the EMEA region. Pano Logic has received significant adoption with its zero client desktop virtualisation solution in education, health, manufacturing and service sectors in EMEA.
“Pano Logic has redefined the delivery and management of desktop computing. This new and innovative approach to VDI has been well received by customers. Those adopting Pano Logic are experiencing notably lower TCO as a result of the Pano zero client approach,” says Chris Hammans. Outlining his vision for the coming year, “We will expand our channel footprint aggressively in the UK and other markets and continue to help customers radically centralise desktop management.”
A veteran executive of the high tech industry, Chris Hammans was instrumental in the development of two leading virtualisation companies, VMware and Citrix Systems, in EMEA. From 2003 to 2009, Chris was regional director at VMware, achieving unprecedented growth within six years. Prior to joining VMware, Hammans was enterprise director at Citrix Systems.
The Pano System is an all-in-one desktop virtualisation solution. Unlike any other
VDI vendor, Pano Logic radically centralises 100% computing power to the virtualised server. There is no processor, no operating system, no memory, no drivers, no software and no moving parts in the Pano Device - resulting in absolutely zero endpoint management. The lifespan of a Pano Device is over three times that of a thin client or PC and it uses less than three percent of a PC’s energy.
Hammans concluded: “My strength and skills lie in building up organisations at the beginning of their journey. Pano is the only purpose-built desktop virtualisation solution that has proven to lower customers TCO. The opportunity to join this dynamic company, to work with great people and innovative technology was extremely compelling. I had a fantastic time working at VMware at such an exciting time of the company’s development and am inspired to be joining Pano Logic, an equally visionary company.”
John Kish, president and CEO of Pano Logic said: “Chris Hammans understands virtualisation and EMEA. We look forward to replicating his incredible success at Citrix and VMware as we extend the Pano Logic business into Europe.”
