Getting Yourself Noticed On The Web
by: Thomasina Biswald
As we all know the internet has ballooned in size in recent years, so much so in fact that it can be very difficult for new people to come along and make an impact onto the web. Not only that but it can be extremely difficult just managing to get your site listed on the major search engines at all.
There are however many ways that you can achieve top rankings on major search engines without having to resort to many dodgy schemes that will attempt to trick the search engines into ranking you higher. The main thing about the internet is that content really is king. Do you haver an original worthwhile site, something that is updated regularly with fresh content from sources that people can trust? If not then you must consider whether it is really worth putting your site out there for the world to view. Creating a useful, fun site for people to use will guarentee repeat viewings and it won't be long until you have an established customer base.
If you have a good original site then the next thing you must do is get it linked, to as many other websites as it possibly can be. Google and other search engines will calculate how important and relevant your website is based on how many other websites have found it useful and linked to you. The best thing to do is to imagine that you are a user, find as many other sites that are similar to yours through the search engines and simply get into contact with the webmasters of these sites and request a link exchange. This will boost both yours and their rankings making everyone happy.
The internet is still very much in its early years, and there are plenty of oppurtunities to make money and provide people with the great content and features that they are searching for, the world really is your oyster.
