Increasing Conversion

Increasing Conversion

I was sitting here today thinking about the 3 second rule. That’s how long I’ve got to convince a potential client to stay on my site.

I was thinking about all the different ways to do this and decided that the best way is creating a separate page for every product being sold on a site.

By doing this I’m able to give the searcher exactly what he’s searching for.

Let’s say I’m selling car parts.

Now I’m going to take one page of my site and create the page for one of my parts, let’s say a custom hood for a 1990 Ford Mustang.

I’m going to name the page 1990 Ford Mustang Custom Hood and use the text in my title and as the first line of text. Maybe make it plural in the text like “Custom 1990 Ford Mustang Hoods” and place it in an h1 tag.

It should be fairly easy to rank for “Custom 1990 Ford Mustang Hoods” and when the visitor clicks on my site he/she will know they are on the right page because the 1st line of text will match what they searched on.

Matching the search exactly, I don’t see any reason to place any links to any of my other products on this page. All I want to do is sell him a 1990 Ford Mustang Hood.

I’ll use an h2 tag under my h1 tag to explain to him how happy he’s going to be and what this new hood can do for him.

Then I’ll add a couple pictures of the hood. A little larger then normal and nice clean looking picture.

Ill also make my font clean and easy to read and maybe a little larger then normal.

The pictures are from the shopping cart so the call to action is right there with the shopping cart.

I don’t want to confuse him with anything else; all I want to do is guide him into making the purchase for this one product.

The home page would link out to all my products and if you got to the home page everything would be normal.

But every product on the site would have its own page that would be set up for selling that one product.

The conversion should be a lot higher then normal because the traffic is 100% targeted for that page.
