When I fist started off looking for an Internet Marketing idea I think I bought every eBook and piece of software going, all designed in my mind to find the Holy Grail! I was a time consuming task just keeping up with the newsletters that dropped into my e-mail box let alone get around to earning money. Information overload? More than that I was totally confused.
1. Internet Marketing Idea
Basically I was looking for something that was simple to carry out, of low cost and had a track record of success. You may be in the same situation?
Should you develop your own product, well I suppose you could write an eBook based on your experiences, profession or hobby, after all that is what I had been doing for the whole of your life to date. But will your ideas be right for the market, you could spend a long time drawing together your experiences as may have never sat down and written anything before, so who will buy it?
2. Affiliate Program management
There are thousands and thousands of products already on the Internet ready to be promoted through affiliate schemes. Seems to be a good idea, with the correct affiliate program management, simply find a product to promote. Seek Google adwords help and open an account, write a few words, and upload the ad and Presto! The cheques would roll in. Well that was the theory with an online affiliate marketing program, trouble was I was not an internet marketing specialist.
Trouble was that although you may make a few sales you will also spend a great deal with Google unless you have picked one of the top affiliate programs with a great sales page. As you became more experienced, you will quickly learn that the customers you send to these affiliate links are now long gone, and they are no longer your customers. They are now your affiliate programme customers. So, while you may have made a few dollars in commissions, you are really working for free to build a nice list for the affiliate programme. They now have those customers for life and can continue to promote new products to them.
Let's think this through and see if I can help you avoid the trap I also fell into.
If your adword was successful and you send 1,000 people through your affiliate link you might make as I said before a few dollars but what happens to those 1,0000 individuals who clicked on your ad in the first place? You have given them away FREE.
This is a big mistake, however, it is one that is easy rectifiable.
3. Access The Top Programmes
I knew from reading that the best way was to have people go to a WEB site built by me and from there send them through my affiliate link to the sales page. This way I could capture the email addresses and they would become my customers. However, if like me, you are not a techie and are still a newbie ( I hate these technical terms don't you?) the thought of building a WEB site, putting the right words together, constructing a form to collect names and email addresses filled me with horror. Then what did I have to do with the names I gathered, how did all those newsletters get to my email box week after week. I knew that the sender did not sit at the computer and type them out individually the terminology was too generic (Wow I must be a Guru using words, like that!). What I needed was an autoresponder to follow up the details but then I would have to write the messages and I am back to square one I am not a budding author.
I tried a few different things, and then I came across CBMall and signed up as an affiliate. This is a wonderful concept. You simply run ads or write articles to promote this Clickbank Mall and when someone visits the mall, all sorted by topics and buys a product from Clickbank, you get a commission. You as the mall owner are allowed to purchase any Clickbank product at the affiliate discount, which is a wonderful benefit. I save tons of money because I buy LOTS of e-books. Another great benefit is that once a customer makes that click, the CBMall sends a free newsletter and does the follow-up for many months. So you have no need to worry about writing the best words for all those follow up email messages.
I found Jeff Mulligan, the owner and designer, to be a tremendous help, he actually replies to e-mails - now that must be a first.
4. At the Top and Earning Money
What is more you will be promoting almost 2,000 of the top selling products of ClickBank so there is no need to be concerned if you are picking the right affiliate scheme it is easy, cost effective and has a proven track record.
