First of all, when you think of writing an article you have to choose a good subject, a subject that people are interested in. Between the most popular subjects are: hobbies, relations, internet, self-improvement and advice.
After you know what the article is going to be about, if you are not a specialist in that particular field of expertise, do a bit of research. As you find interesting ideas that you want to include in your article, write them down. You will organize them later.
Now lets get to the part where you actually have to sit down in front of the computer and write the article.
A well written article is composed from three parts: introduction, body of the article and conclusion.
Good articles start with a heading which is a brief lead section introducing the topic.
The body of the article is composed from a number of paragraphs. This number is for you to establish. Make sure thou that you create one paragraph for each idea you want to discuss.
Paragraphs should be short enough for readability, but long enough to develop an idea. Overly long paragraphs should be split up to keep the idea in focus.
One-sentence paragraphs are unusually emphatic, and should be used sparingly. Articles should rarely, if ever, consist solely of such paragraphs.
If you write an article thinking of publishing them on the internet, make sure you make them Search Engine Friendly by using keywords at the beginning of each paragraph.
Articles themselves should be kept relatively short. Say what needs saying, but do not overdo it. Articles should aim to be less than 32KB in size. Each article on a subtopic should be written as a stand-alone article—that is, it should have a lead section, headings, etc.
Last but not least, you have to choose a title for your article. Choose an atracrive title that says something and is relevant to the body of the article. Try to keep it short, a two-three words title is catching more the attention of the reader than a long title.
These are the main principles of article writing. For a succesfull article, don´t forget to leave a bit of your personality between the lines. Not to give the impression that the article was written by a machine, but by a warm living human being. Good luck!
